Meeting-Discussion on The Project Related to The Popularization of “Academy Economics” – Employers Initiative of KRIB

A meeting-discussion about motivating the young people for successful start and career development at the Bulgarian companies gathered together students and lecturers in the Ceremonial Hall. The event was part of the project entitled Popularization for “Academy Economics” - Employers` Initiative of KRIB (Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria). The meeting was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikolay Shterev, Deputy Head of the Industrial Business Department and by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Blagoev, Scientific Secretary of the same Department.

The project is a chance of hiring students for a paid internship and their strengthening at the leading Bulgarian companies, pointed out Assoc. Prof. Shterev. On one hand the “Academy Economics” provides the practical experience which is not enough for still educating young people to get good starting positions and on the other hand it solves the problem of business sector – the lack of well-prepared professionals. It is not possible specialists for each business organization with specifics to be prepared by the university so the objective of this idea is over the last years of education to be provided knowledge and skills through the theoretical preparation at the university and practice in a real business environment, explained Assoc. Prof. Shterev. The specifics of “Academy Economics” is to make employers search their professionals among the young people, outlined Assoc. Prof. Shterev.

Through the project the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB) implements the priorities of Europe 2020 Strategy of intelligent, sustainable and incorporating growth. During the internship students will study the specifics of their future profession and the employers will be able to assess objectively if the students have the necessary desire and potential of being appointed to work after their graduation.

Students attending at the meeting filled in questionnaire forms for which were given instruction to them by Assoc. Prof. Blagoev. He pointed out that it would help the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria to create a large database giving the opportunity of each company to search trainees who meet its requirements. Beside the personal information, education and motivating attitudes the students had the opportunity to share their expectations about the labour market and their future income.
