Second National Competition on Finance and Accountancy at The UNWE

For a second consecutive year in the Test Center of our university was held the National Competition on Finance and Accountancy. In it took part 150 pupils from 16 secondary schools in the country. The competition was organized by the UNWE and the National Trade and Banking High School (NTBHS). At the event attended Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Valentin Kisimov, Vice Rector in Electronic Organization, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rumyana Pozharevska, Vice Dean of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty, Emilia Ivanova, Director of the National Trade and Banking High School, Daniela Gonkova, Assistant Director of NTBHS.

Minutes before the competition starts

The start of the competition was announced by Prof. Valentin Kisimov who greeted the participants on behalf of the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev. Six of the winners in the implemented Olympiads can be admitted at the university and the UNWE provides great opportunities, pointed out Prof. Kisimov. You are smart and hardworking and you will manage with the tasks in the competition, encouraged the participants Prof. Kisimov. The Vice Rector outlined that the last year winners in the National Competition from the NTBHS had already been among the best students at the university.

Prof. Kisimov explained to participants that the admission at the UNWE had been organized in professional subfields and after the second year according to their results the students had been ranked in the specialities desired by them. We make a preliminary form of selection because we think that you are the top students and we hope that you will prove it also by the results of today`s competition, said the Vice Rector. He also pointed out that the electronic test gives an equal start because of the large basis of questions whose withdrawal begins at the registration of each participant.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rumyana Pozharevska wished the participants success on behalf of Prof. Dr. Snezhana Basheva, Dean of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty. I hope sincerely that you all will be part of our academic community, said Assoc. Prof. Pozharevska.

In the Test Center

Emilia Ivanova, Director of the National Trade and Banking High School also wished the pupils success. We, the teachers and the pupils, want to show to the best Economic University in the country that our alumni deserve to obtain this exclusive opportunity, declared the Director. The prosperity of a certain state is a result of the education and knowledge of its children, outlined Emilia Ivanova. Let the best pupils win because jumping higher than the others is a competition you participate for a lifetime, said also the Director of NTBHS.

The most successful pupils having the highest score in the electronic test is recognized a grade “Excellent 6.00” in the competitive examination for admission at the UNWE in the subfield of Finance, Accountancy and Control.

On December, 19th, at 11.00 a.m. in the Ceremonial Hall the winners will be awarded their Certificates.

The purposes of the competition are: to enhance the motivation of pupils from professional secondary schools of economics in the county for full understanding of knowledge in finance and accountancy and to create an attitude for continuing and individual learning by stimulating the competitive principle; to continue the opportunity for creative expression of students having profound knowledge and formed practical skills in the field of accountancy and finance; to provide an easier transition for pupils from the secondary into the higher school by balancing the requirements between both levels of education; to develop the cooperation between the professional secondary schools and the UNWE.
