For a consecutive year the UNWE is a host of the traditional Career Days which are a bridge between the higher education and the business and a wonderful opportunity for a direct communication between the employers and our students, pointed out the Rector Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev and expressed his thankfulness for the confidence and honour to be a patron of the event. He outlined that the record-breaking number of participants is an eloquent sign for their interest in the UNWE alumni as well as recognition of the educational quality, an evidence for the authority, traditions and competitiveness of the university.

In the Large Conference Hall

The Rector specified that the live communication between the private, state employers and the UNWE had dated back since the establishment of the university. He pointed out that even Prof. Stephan Bobchev, founder and first Rector of UNWE during the graduation ceremony of the first university alumni had outlined that the relation of students to the practice had been “a public sanction for the right of university to exist, the brightest feature of its capacity for living and the most brilliant evidence for the assurance of its future”. These are prophetical words because today the preparation of our graduates is still consistent with the needs of practice and with the increasing requirements of the Bulgarian and European labour market, outlined Prof. Stattev. The Rector greeted the state and private employers for their interest in the UNWE and assured them that it was mutual.

Prof. Stattev also addressed an epistle to the state institutions and the business: “Appreciate our students in dignity because they deserve it. Let them be the professionals preferred by you as it has always been!” He reminded that by the National Insurance Institute data 97% of the UNWE graduates had found a professional realization and outlined that the university had been the largest one in the country having 21 430 students –  it is 7,3 % more than the students at the University of Sofia. I am not absolutizing the quality criteria but I think it is a serious recognition, an expression of the fact that our university is the only one which fills 100% of its planned admission.

Galab Donev, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy greeted the participants in the Forum on behalf of Ivaylo Kalfin, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Policy, graduate of UNWE. He outlined the high level of lecturers and students at the UNWE and pointed out that the young people were a priority in the work of the Ministry where a great deal of the specialists had graduated from the UNWE. Donev wished the young people to set the beginning of their way to the professional success by the Career Days.

It is very rare a graduate from out university to not find a professional realization, shared his experience Asen Angelov, Executive Director of the National Employment Agency and also graduate of UNWE. He assured the attendants that the Agency had stimulated the private business in hiring students as interns and such opportunities had been opened also in the state administration.

I love being among you not only because you are the largest and the best university but also because a lot of my colleagues are its graduates, said Svetlozar Petrov, JobTiger Manager. He expressed his thankfulness to the Rector Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev and to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yordan Bliznakov, Director of the Inter-University Center for Career Development for their support and successful cooperation. “Make your informed choice among the leading companies represented at the university”, wished the students success Mr. Petrov.
