The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Bulgaria Visited The UNWE

A meeting with students on the Guidelines for the Development of Accounting Legislation was held at the Large Conference Hall. The event was organized by the Finance and Accountancy Faculty. The meeting was implemented only a day after the Rector Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev and Boyko Kostov, Chairman of the Board of Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA) in Bulgaria concluded a framework Agreement for Cooperation between both institutions. At the event attended Prof. Dr. Snezhana Basheva, Dean of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty, Emil Evlogiev, Deputy Chairman of ICPA, Prof. Biser Slavkov, member of the  Managing Board of ICPA and lecturer at the Financial Control Department, Rositsa Tritchkova, member of ICPA and the Independent Evaluators Office (IEO) in Bulgaria.

Our institute is a partner with England and Wales (ICAEW), outlined that fact as a success in the ICPA activity Boyko Kostov. He examined the Strategic Forum on the Accounting and Audit Profession held in April and commented on the opportunities for creation of a new Accountancy Act as well as the verges of the independent financial audit. 

Emil Evlogiev presented the structure of ICPA, explained the functions of its Managing Board and Control Council, highlighted the interaction with the Commission for Public Oversight of Statutory Auditors, Bulgarian National Audit Office, Institute of Internal Auditors in Bulgaria, various companies, etc.

Prof. Biser Slavkov presented the activity of the Educational and Methodological Council in solving problems arising in the course of the company audit. About the work of the Committee of Control on the Quality of Audit Services spoke to students Rositsa Tritchkova who outlined that the audit profession had been one of the few self-controlling ones.
