Collective of Authors from the Institute of Postgraduate Studies Published the Monograph Titled Validation of Competencies Acquired at The Workplace in Bulgaria

A collective of authors - lecturers and researchers from the UNWE and Institute of Postgraduate Studies at UNWE by Head: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marcho Markov, Coordinator: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elka Vasileva, members: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Ivanova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Stoychev, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jivko Draganov, Prof. Dr. Margarita Alexandrova, Dr. Todor Todorov and Dr. Ralitsa Pandurska published the monograph titled Validation of Competencies Acquired at the Workplace.

The book is the result of realization of the project № 2010-1-BG1-LEO05-03085 titled ValidAid - Validation   of   Skills   and   Knowledge   for   Strengthening   the   Positions   of   Low - Qualified   Employees   in   the   Labour   Market which is implemented by the Institute of Postgraduate Studies at UNWE as a leading organization and a lot of foreign and Bulgarian partners. The project is financed by the European Commission on the programme Lifelong Learning and sub-programme Leonardo da Vinci – Transfer of Innovation.

The monograph issued by the Publishing Complex of UNWE has as objective to be considered the issue of validation of knowledge, skills and competencies acquired by unofficial and informal education in Bulgaria as well as the practical results achieved by the joint work with partners and to be presented the huge foreign experience but also to be suggested some legislative actions which should be taken for implementation of that important aspect in the lifelong learning.

The collective of authors from the Institute of Postgraduate Studies at UNWE worked out the project ValidAid has obtained a high assessment from the Forming, Analysis and Politics Assessment Directorate to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science. On the base of the achieved experience the Ministry decided to entrust part of the project to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marcho Markov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elka Vasileva, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Stoychev and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Ivanova namely the elaboration of Methodology for forming and assistance of a system for identification and recognition of informally and independently acquired knowledge, skills and competencies in relation to the implementation of activities on the project New Opportunity for My Future, financed by the scheme BG 051 РО 001-4.3.03-0001 – Forming of System for Identification and Recognition of Informally Acquired Knowledge, Skills and Competencies from the Operative Programme Human Resources Development. The deadline for implementation of the project is 18 months.
