Lecturer from UNWE Participates in The Annual Meeting of The Abant Civil Platform in Turkey

Chief Assist. Dr. Plamen Palchev, lecturer from the International Relations Department, took part in the 28th meeting of the Abant Civil Platform in Turkey.

The Abant Platform is an initiative of the Turkish Journalists and Writers Foundation and it is a free Forum for discussions which gathers more than120 intellectuals, university lecturers and journalists to talk over actual and social issues of Turkey. The meeting was held under the title Diverse Perspectives on Turkey. There were free discussions on the following topics in 5 separate workshops: Identities, Demands and New Citizenship; Turkey's Regional Role and Foreign Policy; EU Negotiation Process and Current Situation; Problems and Difficulties for the New Constitution; Inclusive Democracy. The work of the Forum was concluded by the acceptance of Declaration containing assessments and recommendations on the Turkish society and state development.

Chief Assist. Dr. Plamen Ralchev made a study of actual public and political processes and Turkish foreign policy. He is an author of several articles on these topics published in Bulgarian and Turkish editions. The statement of Dr. Ralchev in the Conference was cited by the Turkish Zaman daily newspaper.
