The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Silvia Peneva, Managing Partner of Deloitte Bulgaria, signed a Memorandum to continue their cooperation from the previous agreement in 2019. Both parties agreed to work on joint initiatives, open lectures, internships for students, master classes for master`s and bachelor`s students and other events related to supporting the education of UNWE students and their professional realization.

Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov pointed out the importance of this cooperation, as one of the priorities of the University is to build partnership relations with the business. "All these agreements with the business are for our students to get in touch with practice, with professionals like you, to have internships in big companies like yours, all this is of great benefit for them and for their future career  development", said Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov.

"It is a pleasure for us to work with you, with your lecturers and your students. Accounting is the language of the business and we have been actively communicating with the Accountancy and Analysis Department but with this new memorandum we want to build on our collaboration. Except for the students of Accounting we want to expand the training and internships for students from the Law Faculty, Applied Informatics and Statistics Faculty, Management and Administration Faculty and the Finance Department, Financial Control Department, International Economic Relations /IER/ and Business Department, etc., to offer different forms of internship in the company for Bachelor`s and Master`s students as well as to conduct new master classes", said Silvia Peneva, Manager of Deloitte Bulgaria, graduate of UNWE, graduated with honours the speciality Accountancy and Analysis.

Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian, Head of the Accounting and Analysis Department, emphasized on the great effects of the cooperation with Deloitte Bulgaria: master classes were held for Master`s students on extremely interesting topics such as International Financial Reporting Standards /IFRS/ standards, ESG standards, artificial intelligence in accounting, and for Bachelor`s students - on Excel and inventory processes. "And these master classes provided by Deloitte Bulgaria are already included in our plans and so we have enriched the curricula with practical knowledge that the company's specialists build on. And very importantly, Deloitte Bulgaria continues to support its employees, students from the internationally accredited ACCA Master`s degree programme in Accounting, Financial Control and Finance with preaching taught in English, working for them, in passing the remaining ACCA qualification exams. I would like to note that Mrs. Silvia Peneva, Managing Partner of Deloitte Bulgaria, part of the Deloitte network, the largest international consulting company in the world, is the proof of how far a student of Accounting from the UNWE could develop in its career. She is an example for our students", said Prof. Feschiyan who reminded that Mrs. Silvia Peneva is the first woman to become a partner in the multinational giant in Bulgaria.

Mrs. Peneva introduced the newly established Deloitte Central Europe practice to support the delivery of professional services to strategic and key clients and large-scale Deloitte projects on a regional and global level /Deloitte Central Europe Tax & Legal Business Delivery Solutions/. The team of the newly established practice in Sofia functions flawlessly as a hub, which includes a main unit in Sofia and dedicated teams in Central Europe. It provides Deloitte's regional and global clients with tax, finance, accounting, technology development solutions as well as legal services for compliance and business reporting.

Deloitte's regional remote service delivery capabilities in Central Europe are based on a team of nearly 2 500 tax and legal consulting experts as well as more than 500 remote solution delivery specialists in tax, finance, accounting, legal compliance and technology development. For the UNWE students, the practice provides diverse and unique opportunities to start their careers and to develop in professional services, with a team of professionals committed to teaching from the first working day.
