A Student Girl from UNWE Won The Competition for An Essay

The student girl from our university Mihaela Popova, fourth year undergraduate in speciality Economics of Defence and Security, won the greatest prize (a tablet) in the competition for a student essay on the Risks and Challenges to Security of Bulgaria in XXI Century. It was organized jointly by the Sofia Forum for Security and VIVACOM. In the competition participated students studying in Bachelors and Masters Programmes from leading Bulgarian universities who are educated in specialities as International Relations, National Security and Political Science.

The competition was part of a project for stimulation of the research activity of students in the field of security. The purpose of the initiative was young people to expose their point of view for the challenges which the quickly changing geo-political environment faces to the security of our country.

During the official ceremony were awarded also Mara Karamcheva, graduated from Bachelor and Master of Science on Economics of Securiry and Defence at the UNWE and Kostadinka Ivanova – both successfully have carried out an internship at the Security Directorate of VIVACOM.

At the ceremony attended Tsveta Markova, Chairwoman of the State Commission on Security and Information, Dr. Nikolay Milkov, sitting Secretary of Defence, Miroslav Petrov, Director of Corporate Sales at the VIVACOM, Plamen Vasilev, Director of Security at the VIVACOM and Nevena Mandadzhieva, expert at the Political Cabinet of the Ministry of Security and co-founder of the Sofia Security Forum. Special guest of the event was Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, Head of the National and Regional Security Department of UNWE.
