The Admission to the UNWE Has Started

The Rector of UNWE opened the reception of documents for participation in the ranking and in the prospective student examinations for the Educational Qualification Degree of Bachelor and Master after secondary education for the specialty Law which will last until 30 June. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Matilda Alexandrova, Vice Rector for Educational Activities and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosen Kirilov, Vice Rector for Digitalization and Cyber Security, visited the Center for Reception of Documents and specially addressed to the employees with a wish for a successful prospective student campaign. All those who are not pleased with the results of the State Matriculation Examinations /SME/ can take part in the examination in SME format at the UNWE on 17 June and 25 June.

The first prospective student who submitted documents is Zhivko Marinov from Varna. He has graduated from A.S. Pushkin Russian High School with excellent score and wants to study marketing. "I think that the UNWE is the place where I can learn a lot about this professio, because the training is at a high level", said Zhivko.

The Centre for Document Reception is equipped with additional computer workstations at which applicants can complete the necessary documents with the assistance of a consultant. The first who benefit from the new service were Monika Hristova and Konstantina Nikolova.

Monika Hristova has graduated from 18. William Gladstone High School - a school which has a memorandum of cooperation with the UNWE. Her first wish is to study sociology.

Konstantina Nikolova has graduated from BRITANICA and applied for the new specialty Business Data Analysis with Specialized software.

The UNWE has a special attitude towards disadvantaged students, including those with special needs. The Inter-University Centre for Career Development has a pool that assists in matters concerning the application, training and subsequent realization of these students. Stanislav Parushev who is visually impaired chose the speciality Insurance and Social Work as his first choice. This choice has come by the positive feedback from Rumyana Boyadzhieva who is a third-year student of the same specialty and from the several lectures he attended. There are currently 153 disadvantaged students studying at the UNWE.

The Center for Documents Reception also has consultants from the Student Canteens and Dormitories Division who explain the accommodation options in the UNWE dormitories. The University has 12 canteens and can provide a room to any student.

The Educational Activity Directorate reminds that those willing to study at the UNWE can apply with the scores from the State Matriculation Examination /SME/ or take part in the prospective student examinations /regular and preliminary/ at the UNWE if the results of the SME do not content them. For formation the competition score it is taken into account the highest grade regardless at which of the examinations was obtained.

The prospective students can choose between 53 specialities.

According to the statistics 70 per cent of prospective students submit their applications for ranking online. For the rest the UNWE has created conditions that will facilitate applicants and reduce queues. In the Center for Documents Reception apart from applying online, applicants can also submit documents in the traditional way - on paper.  POS terminals have been installed to facilitate payment of fees onsite. Documents for admission to the UNWE can also be submitted at the Regional Centre for Distance Learning in Haskovo and at the Centres for Prospective Student Preparation and Information in the country. 

For more effective communication and support to prospective students a Call Center has been set up which will be open from 8.00 a.m to 10.00 p.m, including on Saturdays and Sundays.
