The UNWE and the Bulgarian Cybersecurity Association Unite Their Efforts in the Field of Technological Knowledge and Skills

The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Svetlin Iliev, Chairman of the Bulgarian Cybersecurity Association /BCA/, have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The University and the Association are committed to strengthen their collaboration which they have maintained until now and to enhance the skills of young people in the field of cybersecurity as well as to promote and encourage the dialogue between the business sector and the students.

"The dynamic development of digitalization requires professionalism and preparation. In addition to cybersecurity education, students also need practical experience in this field and your association can help facilitate the communication with the businesses, organize academies, internships and specializations for our students to prepare them for the current technological challenges", said the Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov. He further added that the UNWE is one of the most dynamically developing universities in Bulgaria which complies with the modern educational trends and that`s why it is not only a preferred higher education institution but also a valuable partner and like-minded collaborator.

On its part, the BCA commits to provide qualified experts from its members who can impart practical knowledge and skills from a business perspective. These experts will participate in lectures, seminars, workshops and other educational formats to enhance the relation between the academic education and the practical needs of cybersecurity in business.

"Our focus is on high technologies and the opportunities they provide to make the most of them as well as to effectively protect ourselves from negative events in the online space", said Svetlin Iliev, Chairman of the Bulgarian Cybersecurity Association /BCA/.

The partners will work together to develop internship and practice programmes for students that will provide them the opportunity to apply and expand their knowledge and skills in real business situations. It will foster student development and help them become effective cybersecurity professionals upon completion of their education.
