Bill Clinton: If You Want the Best Result, Collaboration is Necessary

The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, lecturers from the Political Science Department and International Relations Department and students from the UNWE attended the meeting with the 42nd President of the USA /1993-2001/ Bill Clinton and had the opportunity to listen to his insights on the Corporate Social Influence on Future Generations. It is his second visit to Bulgaria and it is related to the participation in a forum of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Foundation.

The Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov gave as a gift to the American Ambassador H. E. Kenneth Mertens the book Back to Work by Bill Clinton published in Bulgarian by the UNWE. H. E. Kenneth Merten will help to get a copy of the book to President Bill Clinton.

The Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov also met with the partners of UNWE from the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria Kiril Domuschiev and Evgeni Ivanov, with the President of our new partners from the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce Mr. Tim Kurth, CEO of Aurubis Bulgaria as well as with Rosen Plevneliev, President of the Republic of Bulgaria for the period 2021-2017 whom the Rector invited to the opening event at UNWE of the new Sustainable Development Solutions Network SDSN Bulgaria.

By the UNWE party were present also Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elena Simeonova, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the International Economics and Politics Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Blaga Blagoeva, Head of the Political Science Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Plamen Ralchev, Head of the International Relations Department, Prof. Dr. Dinko Dinkov, Director of the Center for Balkan Studies and lots of students.

On 12 May 2023 a second meeting with Bill Clinton was held with leaders in the public and private sector where five students were invited, three of them from the UNWE - Angel Stoykov, Maxim Sadinov and Gabriela Metodieva and two representatives of the National Representation of Student Councils /NRSC/. Important topics such as education, food security and global climate were discussed.

During the meeting the host of the event, the businessman and Chairman of the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria - Kiril Domuschiev /in the picture below in the middle/ announced the creation of a foundation - Domuschiev Impact which will work together with the CGI. In this regard, at the next event of Bill Clinton Foundation a student will take part together with Kiril Domuschiev and other representatives of the student community from Bulgaria will be sent to the CGI campus to gather insights and experience from experts in the field of business and technology to master the challenges in Bulgaria and the world.

After the event the students had the opportunity to hold personal conversations with Rosen Plevneliev and Kiril Domuschiev.
