Winners of the National Competition in Transport and Energy Received Certificates

Certificates for excellent results in the National Competition in Transport and Energy were awarded to pupils from the Professional High School of Ceramics in town of Elin Pelin. The winners of the Competition will be recognized by the UNWE Academic Council a grade of Excellent /6.00/ in the entrance examinations for speciality Economics of Transport and Energy for academic year 2023-2024 at the UNWE. It is the consecutive competition organized by the Economics of Transport and Energy Department.

At the opening ceremony Prof. Dr. Hristina Nikolova, Head of the Economics of Transport and Energy Department welcomed the pupils from the class with specialization in Shipment, Transport and Storage Logistics and added that they had the opportunity to attend the opening of one of the career forums which are important for the future professional realization of the students. She reminded that the collaboration with the school and their specialized class has been going on for several years and has been very fruitful. Prof. Nikolova pointed out that the Competition, which has recently been in a new format, was controversial and the evaluation was not easy. She greeted those who had the courage to apply and submit their projects and expressed thankfulness to them for being so interested in the idea of the Competition.

The pupils also attended the opening of Career UNWE 2023

"It is a privilege to attend one of the significant events at the University where students and employers meet face to face", said Prof. Dr. Matilda Alexandrova, Vice-Rector for Educational Activity. "Our university is always with open doors and we rely on the integration of training from the secondary to higher education and through the dual education you could have training through action."

The Vice Rector Prof. Alexandrova wished the pupils to see them again at the opening of the academic year in September. "We will all be behind you", she added and expressed her thankfulness to the teachers for the way they have prepared their pupils over the years, "so that we can now greet each other for the winners who have gone through the selection procedure and are highly evaluated. I hope this will be a good example for the rest of the pupils to continue their preparation and apply at the UNWE", appealed Prof. Alexandrova.

Mrs. Tatyana Ivanova, class teacher and methodology teacher, presented a Greeting Address on behalf of the School Management and teachers. "The dual training is a step forward in Bulgarian education, it allows us to have valuable partners like the UNWE and we hope this partnership will continue in the future." She added that over this training pupils receive practical knowledge while they still study at school and have the opportunity to learn from highly qualified professionals. "The children are very pleased and motivated and have the courage to move forward."  Mrs. Ivanova pointed out that she is extremely pleased with the cooperation with the Economics of Transport and Energy Department as it gives pupils the opportunity to obtain successful realization with competitions and other similar events as well as upgraded knowledge with on-site lectures at the school.

The winners of the National Competition in Transport and Energy are Daniela Grueva, Stiliyan Zhivkov, Trifon Popsky, Yana Geshovska and Angel Yankov.

Fanny Ivanova received the certificate of Yana Geshovska

The first prize winner of the competition Daniela Grueva said that she feels great at our university and is looking forward to 18 September to enroll as a student. She added that she is doing an internship as an expeditor and has been organizing transportation for 2 years.

Her mother Ivanka Grueva said she is a proud parent and is very excited and happy, especially by the fact that her daughter likes what she does.
