The Syndicate of Bulgarian Teachers Awarded to the Rector of UNWE a Golden Jubilee Medal

The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov was an official guest at the 41^st Syndicate Council of the Syndicate of Bulgarian Teachers /SBT/ to the Confederation of Independent Syndicates in Bulgaria /CISB/. The topic of the event was Social Status, Prestige and Motivational Background of Teaching Profession.

During the event the President of SBT to the CISB D.Sc./Econ./ Yanka Takeva awarded to the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov a golden jubilee medal and an Honorary diploma for his contribution to the development of educational system in the Republic of Bulgaria and the good social partnership with the Syndicate of Bulgarian Teachers.

Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov expressed his thankfulness to D.Sc./Econ./ Yanka Takeva for the honour and welcomed the organizers and participants of the event.

The Rector brought flowers and a Greeting address to D.Sc./Econ./ Yanka Takeva.

"We highly appreciate your efforts to make education a national strategic priority with the professionalism and dignity of the Bulgarian teacher at its center. The Syndicate has always strived to create and maintain constructive dialogue and equality at all levels, to defend the rights of Bulgarian teachers and to persistently believe in their crucial human and professional role in the development of Bulgarian secondary education", is said in the Greeting address.

"Bulgarian teachers are an important and sensitive part of our social system, a pillar of our national education and culture. On your shoulders is the heavy responsibility to educate in morality and value an increasingly dynamic changing society.

The education is not a preparation for life - it is life itself and the teacher is not only the bearer of knowledge and information, he is the young person's relation to the reality that awaits him beyond the walls of the school", outlined the Rector and pointed out: "I would like to use the occasion to thank you for your fruitful cooperation in the name of our common goal - the promotion and development of education, science and spirituality. The UNWE has excellent partnership with schools on various projects and works actively with the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria.

I am confident that you will continue to defend the rights and interests of one of the most numerous professions in Bulgaria, which bears the responsibility and builds the foundations of its future".

Among the official guests of the event were the President of the CISB Plamen Dimitrov, Lyuboslav Kostov, Executive Director of the Institute for Social and Syndicate Research and Training, Chief Economist of CISB and lecturer at the UNWE Economics Department, the Rector of St. Climent Ohridsky University of Sofia Prof. D.Sc./Phil./ Atanas Gerdzhikov, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, vice rectors and deans of faculties of various universities, school directors, representatives of the SBT sections of CISB from all over the country also participated.
