At the end of April Assoc. Prof. Emilia Georgieva from the Economics Department was at a five-day visit at the University of Florence by the Erasmus Programme. At the Italian university she read a lecture on The Civilizing Choice of Bulgaria that was listened with a great interest from the Masters-students in the course on The Policy of European Integration of Prof. Valeria Fargon.

Before the presentation students examined their knowledge about Bulgaria by a test. Results showed that all of them know about the capital – Sofia, the majority of them successfully finds our country on the geographic map determining our religion as an Eastern Orthodox and even not a small number of them remember Valery Bojinov as a footballer from the local team Fiorentina.

As the visit of Assoc. Prof. Georgieva was organized jointly by the Economics Faculty and the Political Sciences Faculty of the Florence University, Prof. Vinicho Guidi, Head of the Economic Sciences Department invited our lecturer to speak to a part of the colleagues about the actual situation in our country. Assoc. Prof. Emilia Georgieva conducted a meeting also with Prof. Marko Belandi, Vice-Rector of the University and the new opportunities for collaboration between the Bulgarian and Italian University were discussed.
