The lecture organized by the Students Council of UNWE gathered together a lot of students, lecturers and bankers at the Maxima Aula of UNWE.

Statty Stattev presented the guest Dr. Tzetan Vasilev citing his words when he had been given the Honorary Mark of UNWE in 2009. Prof. Stattev reminded about the contribution of the famous banker to the implementation of the effective relation business – university, about the private donations and provision of opportunities for career development of graduated the specialty International Economic Relations which Vasilev himself had graduated. The Rector also emphasized the merits of Dr. Vasilev for the establishment of the annual award of 100 000 BGN for UNWE and the material motives provided for the excellent Bachelors and Masters graduated the speciality. “I wish you being successful in your career and mostly let the star of UNWE always shines in your hearts”, wished to students the Rector of the university pointing as a model the famous alumnus of UNWE Dr. Tzvetan Vasilev.

It is necessary to be created a policy stimulating the economy, outlined in his lecture Dr. Tzvetan Vasilev who examined the development of the world economic crisis in chronological order. To our great regret we suffer along with Europe as we are a part of it in spite of the fact that we are the state which soon has gone through the rounds of a hyperinflation. It helps us to a certain extent for being among the so called excellent states in the EU in respect of the basic indicators - by a budget deficit at one of the lowest levels of about 2-2,1% as well as being among the first three states having a debt to the gross domestic product under 20%. Dr. Tzvetan Vasilev ascertained the criticism that we rely too much to the goal to achieve 3% of budget deficit being announced as the excellent state of the EU only by “tapping over the shoulder” meaning without a reason. He also marked the fact that the present Government of the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria Party (GERB) is placed in the most difficult conditions after the Government of Ivan Kostov. “We have not seen the bottom of the crisis yet but it is not known when we will see it” specified the lecturer.

Tzvetan Vasilev examined the drastic decrease of the foreign investments over the last year, the low level of payment in our country and “the unique patience of Bulgarian people”. At the moment the government is faced to the exclusively complex issue of where to find a balance between the restrictive financial policy that it has already followed for two and a half years and the stimulating practices and politics which unfortunately it does not apply. Bulgaria needs a comprehensive and coherent concept for increasing the competitiveness of its economy for stimulation of the export oriented outputs, pointed out the lecturer.

Vasilev answered the question of attendants at the hall about the credit interests, the security policy, the Nuclear Power Plant in Belene, the energetic strategy, etc.
