Opportunities for Developing the Cross-Border Eastern Rhodopes Region between Bulgaria and Greece Were Discussed by Students and Representatives of the Agricultural Business

Opportunities for a joint project on the development of a local brand "Eastern Rhodopes Region" between Bulgaria and Greece in the field of agriculture was discussed at a public lecture at the UNWE Regional Center for Distance Learning in Haskovo.

The guest speaker Assoc. Prof. Dimitrios Petropoulos from the University of Peloponnese, Greece, presented to students and businessmen the topic "Marketing of Local products in the Development Strategy of the Region - the Experience of Greece". The event was held in the Aula of UNWE Regional Center in Haskovo and online with the participation of students, UNWE lecturers, representatives of businesses related to the agriculture. The live participants in the Aula and guests online were interested in organizing the marketing of agricultural products in Greece and the extent to which a common brand can be built in the cross-border region.

The public lecture was on the idea of the UNWE Regional Center and the organization in the online environment was done by the students from the Master's degree program in Communication Management at UNWE in Haskovo. The organization of the public event became also part of their training in Event Management.
