UNWE Lecturer Delivered Report to the UN

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe /UNECE/ showed interest in the publication of Chief Assist. Dr. Shteryo Nozharov – lecturer at the UNWE and his co-author Chief Assist. Dr. Petya Nozharova from the Bulgarian Academy of Science /BAS/. The UN Commission invited them both to present their publication at the 65th Session of UNECE Working Party on Inland Water Transport held over the period 3 – 5 November 2021.

The publication that provoked the interest of UNECE is dedicated to the circular economy as an opportunity for the inland waterway transport development and the analysis is related to the Danube River. The objective of the publication is to be the basis for creating unified rules for the circular management of shipping waste that also affects port facilities on the territory of Europe.

The Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihail Musov commented the success with the words: “Such invitations to our lecturers are a high assessment of the quality of research conducted at the UNWE. They are an attestation of the actual status of the University as a research higher school with internationally visible scientific results".
