A prize for taking care of people with disabilities has received the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev. The prize was awarded to him by a decision of the Washington System of The Global Movements to The UN as one of the ten awards for 2012. It was bestowed to the Rector by Dr. Diana Indjova, Chairman of the Center for Psychological Research – a nationally represented non-governmental organization of people with disabilities.

“During the meeting at the UNWE last year the power of his will deeply impressed Sharon Miles, Chairwoman of The Global Movement of People with Disabilities and Donna Steiger, Chairwoman of The Tribunal for Crimes against Humanity in the field of people with disabilities. During their monitoring about Bulgaria they made sure that the high assessments and the prestige of our university were based on real results”, said Dr. Indjova when she bestowed the prize to the Rector. “All that we saw here was the activity of the Managing body as well as the activity of students. We`ve made sure that you want to help. That`s why our collaboration with the UNWE will continue”.

Some specific ideas for improvement of the conditions for people with disabilities were discussed with the Rector. Prof. Stattev declared that everything possible was made so UNWE to become the university providing the best conditions for people with disabilities. “People gather when they bear good intentions into their hearts. And when persons like Prof. Stattev realize such ideas it turns in a positive model for all the people”, expressed her point of view Dr. Indjova.
