At A Meeting on Together More Informed since Today Students Appraised The Erasmus Programme Opportunities

At the second meeting on Together More Informed since Today attendants at the Large Conference Hall of UNWE had a chance to learn more about the student mobility and Erasmus Programme.

Erasmus is the European community programme and universities from 31 European countries participate in it. Statistics about mobility shows that 3100 are the universities involved in it and 41 of them are in Bulgaria. More of 1.7 million are the so called Erasmus students and 5100 of them are Bulgarians. Their number is expected to increase to 3 million till the end of academic year 2012-2013, pointed out in her presentation Assoc. Prof. Vera Pirimova, Director of the University Center for Mobility of Students and Lecturers.

Assoc. Prof. Pirimova presented in details the mobility of students and lecturers, opportunities for bilateral exchange, conditions for participation in the programme, contest procedures, etc. Erasmus Programme is implemented on a basis of bilateral agreements concluded between UNWE and more than 80 economic universities and faculties from almost all European countries and it gives an opportunity for education of students (Bachelors and Masters) as well as doctoral students and lecturers.

As the most important for young people Assoc. Prof. Pirimova pointed out the student mobility like an access to other higher European educational systems, the expansion of knowledge and competence, establishment of inter-personal relationships, improvement of foreign language skills and enhancement of the common culture.
