Second Agreement of Cooperation between the UNWE and IAEA

Second Agreement of Practical Cooperation between the University of National and World Economy and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was signed by the Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev and Mr. Raja Adnan, acting as Deputy Director-General of IAEA, on 15 February at the seat of the Agency in Vienna (in the picture below).

At the ceremony attended also Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Spasov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United Nations, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the other international organizations in Vienna (on the left in the picture below).

The Agreement is a result of five years of successful cooperation on which is based the support of IAEA to the UNWE for the implementation of International Master's Degree Programme in Nuclear Security. Due to the Agreement experts and students from developing countries (Africa and Asia) will continue studying at the UNWE specializing in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

By the signing of the Agreement the commitment of UNWE and IAEA to work jointly in the sphere of education and human capital development in the field of nuclear security is renewed for a subsequent period of three years.
