The first lessons how to be successful presenters were given to students from the UNWE and other universities in the frameworks of the training organized by the NGO Teach for Bulgaria jointly with the Inter-University Center for Career Development (ICCD) and the Student Council. Lecturer for the event was Peter Proykov from the NGO Teach for Bulgaria.

Today I am happy and the crowded hall and your interest are the reasons for that, pointed out at the opening of the training Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosen Kirilov, Director of ICCD. Your interest means that we go in the right direction. The organizers strive to make students take part in more and more trainings that will help them to be successful in the future, said Assoc. Prof. Kirilov.

The Director of ICCD announced that each student in the hall would be given a certificate of the skills acquired over the training. Our university will continue organizing trainings that will be certified, added Assoc. Prof. Kirilov.

Students

I am glad that for several years we have had an opportunity to work with the ICCD and the Student Council and to organize events focused on the interests of students, said Peter Proykov and shared that the feeling of speaking to audience and to motivate young people is wonderful (in the picture below).

The lecturer outlined the most important moments in the creation of presentation and emphasized on its preparation often underestimated so he advised the students to determine their objective and key message. You should know what kind of audience you will speak to and to focus your lecture on its interests, said Proykov. According to him it is exclusively important to be well-prepared and even to have rehearsals in advance. Reading while speaking is inadmissible. Be dynamic and speak loudly. Your appearance is also very important to attract the attention of the audience, added the lecturer.

During the training students were solving various tasks

Proykov examined the presentation structure pointing out that in it there should be trust, logic and emotion. Be well-aware of the topic because it will inspire confidence and respect. The tension is natural. People don`t understand when you have forgotten something to tell. The emotion should also be part of every presentation – personal story, humour or even confession, said the lecturer.

 In the Large Conference Hall

The training was carried out as dialogue between the students and the lecturer. After that students divided in teams and organized short presentations applying what they had learnt (in the pictures below).
