Lecturers from the UNWE Participated in Two European Forums on Standardisation

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elka Vasileva and Chief Assist. Dr. Nina Tipova from the Economics of Natural Resources Department participated in two European Forums on Standardisation.

As a representative of UNWE Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elka Vasileva took part in a discussion during the meeting on Standardisation in the 21st Century: Social, Economic and Educational Aspects which was held in Brussels. At the Forum Assoc. Prof. Vasileva presented academic practices for education in standardisation and research in the field of economic and social impact of international standards of quality management. Future partnerships in the field of standardisation and education in the context of the so called EU Joint Initiative on Standardisation were discussed.

Chief Assist. Dr. Nina Tipova presented our country at another Forum on Standardisation in Brussels – XXVIII ANEC General Assembly. As an associate member she took part in the sessions and discussions related to the role of consumers in the standardisation at national and European level. In her statement during the Assembly Dr. Tipova outlined the necessity of cooperation between the academic circles and consumer organizations for trainings and research in the field of standardisation.
