Assoc. Prof. Georgy Chankov

Assoc. Prof. Chankov reminded that in 2012 the mechanism of cooperation between China and the CEE had been officially incorporated, in 2011 on the initiative of the Asian party it had been organized an economic forum in Budapest and a year later in Warsaw it had been held the first summit at governmental level which had been the official start of the 16+1 Framework. 11 of the 16 countries included in the cooperation mechanism are EU member states among which is Bulgaria and the rest 5 countries are at different stages of application for such a membership.

During the Forum in the Large Conference Hall

The railway line between Beograd and Budapest, the Framework Agreement between China and Romania in the field of nuclear security, preventing the flood in the Poland city of Wroclaw implemented by the company Sinohydro Group are only part of the projects on the 16+1 Framework including China and CEE, outlined Assoc. Prof. Chankov. He answered also the question about the place of Bulgaria in that scheme as he specified the opportunities of Chinese Alibaba Group for establishing a logistical center in our country to service the orders all over Europe.

Assoc. Prof. Chankov pointed out that the EU hadn`t offered clear perspectives and impulse of development for several years and so the Chinese project had been an original alternative of it.
