Meeting-Conversation on The Block-Chain

The block-chain which is the leading software platform for digital assets in the world serving as technology of crypto currencies like the Bitcoin, may become the ground of the financial system in the future as it allows faster transactions. The Block-Chain was also the topic of the meeting-discussion held at the university with Vladislav Dramaliev, establisher of Bit –Hope Foundation and through satellite connection with Gabriele Dominikini from the BlockchainLab, Italy. The event was organized with the assistance of the Inter-University Center for Career Development (IUCCD) and the Scientific Research Center for Good Management Practices (SRCGMP). At the meeting attended the Directors of both Centers Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yordan Bliznakov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova. Moderator for the event was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Angel Marchev from the Management Department.

“There are lots of companies carrying out research on the block-chain technology including Samsung, Nokia, Huawei, IBM and Intel. BlockchainLab, Italy develops several conceptual applications and has representations in Dublin, Montreal, Kiev, Milano and we hope – in Sofia”, shared Dominikini.

The presentation at the UNWE is the first of its kind, pointed out Valdislav Dramaliev, co-founder of the first website for exchange of Bitcoins in Bulgaria, one of the establishers of the Bulgarian Bitcoin Association, founder of the website CoinFixer.com, member of the American Bitcoin Foundation.

The lecturer presented to students in the Large Conference Hall the specifics of crypto currencies, types of block-chains and advantages of using the block-chain register. According to his words the technology is an interesting technological experiment in which everyone can take part and change the world.

Vladislav Dramaliev

As advantages of the Bitcoin network Dramaliev pointed out its transparency, protection and popularity. The block-chain applications verify the identity of participants through cryptography and digital signs. “One of the most valuable advantages of the block-chain register especially of its Bitcoin variation is the impossibility of changing the records entered in it. The power of bitcoin network is so high that attacks against it are almost impossible”.  

During the meeting

“A world of applications”, called the block-chain sphere the lecturer and gave some important advices: “Become innovators with your own knowledge and abilities”, “Think strategically and you will be needed. Adapt easy and quickly to the tendencies”, “Acquire information and knowledge that are rare and necessary for being competitive. Start studying the block-chain sphere and build a career. We can help you”.

The block-chain is generally a distributed database or “a timestamp server” as it is called by Satoshi Nakamoto - the inventor of the virtual currency Bitcoin. It maintains a continuously growing list of ordered records called blocks and each block contains a timestamp and a link to a previous block. By design, block-chains are inherently resistant to modification of the data — once recorded, the data in a block cannot be altered retroactively. Block-chains are an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way. The ledger itself can also be programmed to trigger transactions automatically.
