“There`s no revolution that has changed the world as the social media have done it”, outlined Behar and explained that the comprehensive revolution of social media had given the people the opportunity to communicate in a way they had never imagine. The social media have changed our personal stories because every one of us has turned into a journalist and a small media. We have become publishers, journalists and editors without being conscious of it, pointed out the lecturer and gave as an example the President of the USA Donald Trump who “rules the world form his Twitter account and it`s a giant power”. Due to the social media the market economy also has come to a change as it become part of the social media and developed the business as well as the rivalry, declared Maxim Behar.

The lecturer

The fact that every one of us has turned into a media overturns the media, pointed out the guest-lecturer. He prognosticated that the printed media would disappear because the daily newspapers contain no news and only analyses and comments. It is because today we get the news on the dot due to the role of internet and social media. In fact the reason for disappearance of printed media will be the lack of advertisements because now they are directed to the online advertising which is cheaper and more commensurable.

Attendees at the public lecture

The whole burden is removed in the social media, continued the lecturer. Today we are friends with people we even do not know and this kind of communication replaced also the civil movements which today are in the social networks as groups. According to the expert today people have an equality which they have never had because they communicate without being interested in colour, interest or political views of their interlocutor. For us the topics, opinions and the exchange of experience with the interlocutor are more important. “The social media has turned into a moral police of politicians and people from the business”, outlined Behar. According to his words there is no politician in Bulgaria who is able to work with the social media in the right way and that`s why many politicians become an object of comments in the media.

The lecturer spoke also about the risks in the internet space which he defined as worthless in comparison with the advantages of communication. The lightning speed of relation between the people and the exchange of opinions are something unique that changes us and makes us better but it also learns us being strong in our messages, declared the PR expert. He commented also the chaos provoked by the social networks and the reason of it: “people don`t know how to behave in the internet space”. Today we can control the politicians every day and after some time the people who has approved their practice in the social media will rule.

The Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev awarded to Maxim Behar Certificate of Appreciation for his public lecture (in the picture below).
