The Rector Awarded Plaques and Certificates to The Lecturers Honoured with The Titles of Honorary Professor of UNWE and Professor Emeritus of UNWE As Well As to The New Professors and Associate Professors

During the UNWE General Assembly the Rector Prof. D. Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev awarded the Plaques and Certificates to the lecturers honoured by the Academic Council with the titles of Honorary Professor of UNWE and Professor Emeritus of UNWE as well as the Certificates to lecturers acquired in the current year the academic positions of Professor and Associate Professor. Thus the ceremony on awarding of certificates set up the beginning of new university tradition.

The Rector announced that the title of Honorary Professor of UNWE had been conferred on Prof. Dr. Borislav Borisov and the Academic Ombudsman Prof. Blagoy Kolev for their outstanding contribution to the UNWE development and for their indisputable authority among the academic community.

Certificates and Plaques were awarded also to the holders of the titles of Professor Emeritus of UNWE: Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Bistra Boeva, Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Ivan Georgiev, Prof. Dr. Stoyan Stoyanov, Prof. Dr. Georgy Yankov, Prof. Dr. Zlatka Sukareva and Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Kiril Todorov. The title of Professor Emeritus of UNWE is conferred also on Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Yosif Iliev and Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Pano Lulansky.

On behalf of the title holders of Honorary Professor of UNWE and Professor Emeritus of UNWE Prof. Dr. Blagoy Kolev expressed his thankfulness and declared that he and his colleagues had been part of the generation which had built up the current principles of UNWE. Prof. Kolev formulated three major “pillars” of UNWE: the academic autonomy, academic staff and the cultural “pillar”.

The Rector awarded Certificates also to the lecturers acquired in the current year the academic positions of Professor and Associate Professor. Prof. Stattev pointed out that in the future the ceremony on awarding of certificates would be held twice a year – on 21 May – the UNWE Patron Holiday and during the General Assembly of UNWE in December. It is important the ceremony on awarding of certificates to be implemented in the presence of the whole academic community, outlined Prof. Stattev.
