The Ninth Annual Scientific Session of UNWE presented and summarized the results of completed university and international projects over the period 2015-2016. At the event held in the Large Conference Hall attended Prof. Dr. Valentin Goev, Vice Rector for Scientific Research Activity, scientists from the Faculties and Departments of UNWE.

In the Large Conference Hall

Prof. Goev opened the Session as he greeted the participants on behalf of the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev. “We continue holding up a high temp in the elaboration of scientific projects”, pointed out the Vice Rector and outlined that it had been the reality in spite of the reduced finance for the university science. Prof. Goev reported on the activity over the preceding year when 130 scientific research projects had been implemented. Among them there had been 78 scientific research of the university, 4 international and 4 national ones and 45 projects for the university scientific events.

The Vice Rector specified that during the Scientific Session 22 projects would be presented. He pointed out that the Scientific Research Fund “hasn`t financed projects of preceding and current year” and the financing had been stopped also for the projects of 2014. Prof. Goev outlined that fact as an explicit reason for the lack of report activity in the framework of the Fund although the university had applied 6 projects to it. “No matter what happens we continue working with the opportunities and finance given to us”, assured the Vice Rector. He defined as very important the reports on the scientific research activity of Departments and Faculties on methodic through which the universities had been assessed. On the base of that assessments there would be differentiated financing and evaluation through coefficients on which would depend the financing of scientific projects, outlined Prof. Goev.

The Vice Rector emphasized on the importance “of activation in the scientific research” not giving prominence only to teaching. “If each of us has a coefficient over 2 it is a guarantee that the Department, Faculty and university will have very high coefficient too”, said Prof. Goev and in conclusion he pointed out that for being a research university should talk more and more about the science.
