Meeting of Experts from The Embassy of The Kingdom of Spain on The Programme for Language and Culture Assistants in Spain

For the third time at the invitation of the Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics Department a guest at the university was Cesar Aja Mariño, Counsellor for Educational Affairs at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in our country. The topic of the meeting was related to the Programme for Language and Culture Assistants in Spain and the Political Division in Spain - the Elections. A guest-lecturer was also Pablo Díez, expert from the Educational Affairs Division at the Embassy.

The meeting in the Scientific Councils Hall was opened by Prof. Daniela Koh-Kozhuharova, Head of the Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics Department who presented Cesar Aja Mariño – former Senator, Mayor, Municipality Counsellor, member of the Parliament, a person with huge political experience and polyglot.

Mariño pointed out that the International Educational Programme for Language and Culture Assistants in Spain had been opened for Bulgaria and Romania for the first time since the current year and it had been applied in Hungary for the second time. I think that the Programme is important and gives an opportunity for cultural and educational exchange of students from the university, outlined Cesar Aja Mariño.

In Scientific Councils Hall

Pablo Díez explained the conditions of application and participation in the Programme financed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain. Since the current year in it had been included also Bulgarian youths – graduated students or fourth year students having a high command of English language. For the approved candidates is provided a scholarship of 700 Euro per month to work as assistant-teacher in English at the elementary or secondary schools in Spain for a full academic year – from October 2016 to 31 May 2017. Cesar Aja Mariño commented also on the political structure of Spain, the foundation of constitutional monarchy, two chamber parliamentary system and the implementation of legislative power, elections and the executive power, administrative division of the country. He examined also the parliamentary elections that had been held on 26 June, political parties and opportunities for the implementation of referendums.
