Dual Bachelor Programme for Students from the Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Specialty Economics Taught in English, Started Successfully

Today, on February, 23rd, 2021 the Dual Bachelor Programme (DDP) for students from the Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU), specialty Economics Taught in English led by the Economics Department at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), was successfully started.

The University of Foreign Studies in Tianjin was found in 1921. It offers 57 Bachelor's degree programmes at seven Faculties - Economics, Management, Law, Education, Literature, Art and Engineering. The University has two campuses - Wudadao Campus and the Binhai Campus, located on an area of over 464 thousand square meters. TFSU's motto says: For Global Knowledge and Morality.

The aim of the Programme is to prepare highly qualified economic specialists having rich theoretical and empirical background in the field of Economics at a global level which could be successfully applied in a dynamic intercultural environment.

The Programme is developed for students from China. It is type "3+1" which means that over the first three years students will study at the TFSU and during their fourth year the students who have successfully passed their exams will continue their studies at the UNWE. Besides the teaching during the fourth year the lecturers from our university will provide online teaching in eight disciplines over the first three years.

The Dual Programme also provides opportunity for students mobility (on Erasmus+ Programme), participation in scientific seminars, etc.

In a short presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Beev, Head of Economics Department and Chief Assist. Dr. Anika Petkova, Programme Coordinator, introduced the UNWE lecturers for the current summer semester to their TFSU students. The first lecture on Principals of Economic Theory was presented by Prof.D.Sc.(Econ.) Rumen Gechev. As lecturers in this course are also involved Chief Assist. Dr. Petar Peshev and Chief Assist. Dr. Ivan Bozhikin.

The second course on Microeconomics scheduled for this semester will be led by the lecturers Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Marikina, Chief Assist. Dr. Anika Petkova and Chief Assist. Dr. Kristina Marholeva.

Conducting the lectures in an online environment proved the high potential of UNWE to use modern teaching methods, to attract foreign students from all over the world and to establish itself as a leading economic university at an international level.
