40th Anniversary of The International Economics and Politics Faculty

The 40^th Jubilee Anniversary of the International Economic Relations and Politics Faculty was celebrated through an Official Assembly in Maxima Aula. The event was attended by the Rector of the university Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev, the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova, Prof. Veselka Pavlova, Vice-Rector for Education in the EQD of Master, Distance and Lifelong Learning, Prof. Dr. Valentin Goev, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research Activity, Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Danail Danailov, Rector of UNWE since 1980 to 1987, Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Lilia Karakasheva, the first Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Georgy Genov, Dean of the International Economics and Politics Faculty, lecturers, students and guests.

Prof. Genov presented the history of the Faculty since its foundation till now focusing on its achievements. For the last four decades more than 10 thousand students and over 200 Doctoral students were educated at the Faculty. There are 22 Professors and 27 Associate Professors. The Dean outlined that the Faculty has a good international rate. Our graduates work successfully over four continents and nearly one hundred of them work in international organizations, pointed out Prof. Genov. He also mentioned that the graduates from the Faculty had considerably contributed to the changes and governance in the country. We are famous with the success of our students in the field of corporative management and governance in many of the successful companies in Bulgaria, added Prof. Genov. He expressed his thankfulness to the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev for the support.     

Prof. Stattev is greeting the lecturers, students and graduates from the Faculty.

Prof. Stattev awarded to the Dean Prof. Genov the Commemorative medal of Prof. Stephan Bobchev – Founder and First Rector of UNWE for the successful achievements of the Faculty and on the occasion of its jubilee (in the picture below).

The Rector also awarded to both of the doyens of the Faculty – Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Danail Danailov and Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Lilia Karakahseva a Statuette of the monument of Prof. Stephan Bobchev – Founder and First Rector of UNWE for their merits to the UNWE and on the occasion of their 80^th jubilee anniversary (in the picture below).

Prof. Danailov expressed his thankfulness for the award and for the celebration of his 80^th jubilee anniversary. I am glad that in spite of the difficulties we have had we established the Faculty and the results are obvious, declared the Professor.
