Memorandum of Cooperation with Association More Women in Power

By signing the Memorandum of Cooperation the UNWE builds on its strong working relationship with the representatives of More Women in Power Association and marks the beginning of an official partnership between the two organizations.

The agreement establishes a framework for strategic cooperation aimed at enhancing the quality of education, scientific research and innovation as well as supporting the young people by promoting youth employment, culture and innovation. The planned activities include joint initiatives to support students’ education, keep them informed about public events, training opportunities, internships and develop and implement collaborative projects under national and European funding programmes.

The Memorandum was signed by the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Evelina Tsileva, Chairwoman of the Association /in the picture below/.

The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov highlighted the excellent collaboration during the joint forum Between Symbolism and Reality: Women as Subjects of Power, that was hosted by the University, and added that in his opinion the currently existing prejudices against women in power are slowly eroding and the inclusion of women in all social spheres must be encouraged.

Evelina Tsileva expressed gratitude for the opportunity for the Association to partner with the largest business university in Bulgaria, of which she is an alumna, and emphasized that the UNWE is the only organization in the country advocating for greater participation of women in politics and public administration, with the goal of fostering more women leaders who will take part in decision-making processes and the governance of the country. She noted that the organization's goal is to support women through training programmes and various events in developing their talents, cultivating their own leadership style, strengthening their negotiation skills and becoming innovators and thought leaders.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Oilicies, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Georgieva, lecturer at the UNWE Entrepreneurship Department and Deputy Director for the UNWE Entrepreneurship Institute, she is also a Coordinator on the implementation of the Memorandum on behalf of UNWE. The Coordinator for the implementation of the Memorandum on behalf of the Association is the Vice Chairwoman of More Women in Power Lyudmila Barzanova.

The Association More Women in Power aims to promote gender equality and balance in the Bulgarian Parliament and to advance these same principles across Europe. The organization seeks to provide women with opportunities to acquire the skills and competencies needed to develop and strengthen their leadership and management abilities, while also attracting young, highly educated Bulgarian women who have graduated from prestigious universities around the world, care deeply about the country's future, and are eager to contribute to its governance. The mission of More Women in Power Association is to establish centers and communities in every regional and major city across Bulgaria, bringing together accomplished women from diverse fields, where they can receive the support and additional training necessary to further their professional and leadership development.
