The UNWE Management Department and DSK Bank Organized a Workshop for Entrepreneurs

The Aurora Hall at our university became a meeting point between the academic knowledge and the real business world during a specialized workshop for future entrepreneurs, organized by the Management Department in strategic partnership with DSK Bank.

The event brought together ambitious students from various specialities, who received practical guidance on developing their innovative ideas and transforming them into sustainable startup companies. The young entrepreneurs also learned about the support opportunities available within the university’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The opening ceremony was attended by Stanislava Stefanova, Head of Youth Segment Division at DSK Bank, Vasil Gospodinov, Regional Manager for Sofia Region at DSK Bank, Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Angel Marchev, lecturer in the Management Department /in the picture below from the left to the right/.

The discussion was focused on tools for the growth of startups and the launch of the new edition of the prestigious competition Best Youth Startup 2026.

Assoc. Prof. Angel Marchev introduced the young entrepreneurs to the activities of the UNWE Startup Incubator, which provides for students mentoring, contacts with investors and access to technical infrastructure. He emphasized on the incubator’s role as a bridge between the academic ideas and the real business, highlighting the success of various projects, such as the ParkX mobile app - an example of a successful startup.

During the event Assoc. Prof. Marchev announced the launch of the campaign for the competition Best Youth Startup 2026 encouraging attendees to submit their concepts by 8 April 2026.

Maria-Magdalena Mitovska from DSK Bank shared valuable practical insights on how to launch a new business, emphasizing the effective use of modern digital solutions. She explained in details the digital onboarding process, which allows the startups to overcome the administrative barriers and to launch their activity as quickly as possible. She also highlighted the criteria the large corporations use to select innovative startups for long-term collaboration.

Anton Hristov, invited as a guest speaker by DSK Bank, presented the entrepreneur’s journey from the start to the finish - from the inception of an idea to the development of a viable and sustainable business model. He explained the key role of the banking sector as a strategic partner, supporting the growth of young companies through specialized financial instruments and expert support. At the end of his presentation, he emphasized the importance of proper preparation for attracting investment and managing financial risk in the initial phase of projects.

The students participated in a tombola with attractive prizes and enjoyed aromatic popcorn at the special DSK Bank stall.
