The Rector Prof. Stattev at an Audience with Pope Francis

The Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Sttatev was part of the delegation accompanying the Prime Minister Boyko Borisov during his visit to the Italian Republic – Rome and Vatican for the audience with the Head of the Roman Catholic Church His Holiness Pope Francis on the occasion of 24 May – the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and the Slavonic Scripture. Members of the delegation were representatives of religion in Bulgaria, academic community and culture figures.

Since 1968 there is a tradition of Bulgarian delegation to visit Vatican for an audience with the Holy Father on 24 May – the day devoted to honour the deed of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius proclaimed as Co-Patrons of Europe by Pope John Paul II in the Apostolic Letter Egregiae Virtutis of 30 December 1980.
