Application procedure & Mobility Information

Applicants must have a contractual relationship at one of the partner universities at the time of applying and while abroad.

STAFF MOBILITY FOR TEACHING

The length of the teaching period is 5 days, and these 5 days should be consecutive. Teaching activities must be carried out for a minimum of 8 hours during the week.

The mobility period shall last 5 working days for teaching staff + 2 days for travel.

BEFORE the mobility start a teacher from the partner university should establish communication with the Erasmus office at UNWE to arrange teaching activities; teaching activities need to be set in the Mobility agreement.

For the teaching mobility please take into account the Academic Calendar of the University of National and World Economy and the official holidays in Bulgaria.


STAFF MOBILITY FOR TRAINING
This activity supports the professional development of staff in the form of training events abroad (excluding conferences) and job shadowing/observation periods/training at a Partner University.

The mobility period shall last 5 working days for non-teaching staff + 2 days for travel.

 

BEFORE the mobility start a staff member from the partner university should establish communication with the Erasmus office at UNWE to arrange training activities; training activities need to be set in the Mobility agreement.

 

VISA

The Host institution will issue a letter of acceptance for the participant necessary for the visa application.

 

NOMINATION AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • STEP 1. Staff member from the partner university needs to be nominated by the home university – please contact your coordinator.
  • STEP 2. The staff member should make a contact with a colleague from the Erasmus office of the UNWE in order to agree on the work plan  and fill out the Mobility agreement
  • STEP 3. After the mobility agreement is signed (with planned teaching / training activities has been signed), a scanned copy is to be sent to Erasmus+ Office of the UNWE, [email protected] + passport scan. Please note that the grant agreement that regulates the payment of the financial support towards the staff member and a few additional administrative requirements need to be regulated before arrival – the actual start of mobility/arrival should be planned minimum 3 months in advance.

 

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR TEACHERS AND STAFF MEMBERS

  • Individual support

The financial support corresponds to 140 € per day of the stay (5 working days + 2 travel days) in total 980 €

The full amount to be paid to the teacher/staff will be set in the grant agreement and according to the dates / days spent on exchange at UNWE.

  • Travel costs

The travel support is calculated based on the travel distances by using the distance calculator supported by the European Commission.

Six distance bands have been identified.  The amount provided will support the round trip.

180 EUR per participant

Between 500 and 1999 KM:

275 EUR per participant

Between 2000 and 2999 KM:

360 EUR per participant

Between 3000 and 3999 KM:

530 EUR per participant

Between 4000 and 7999 KM:

820 EUR per participant

8000 KM or more:

1500 EUR per participant

 

SCHOLARSHIP PAYMENTS
The teacher/staff member will sign an individual grant agreement regulating the payment of the financial support towards the grant holder prior to arrival.
The teacher/staff member receives the financial support in full (100%) – paid to the bank account of the grant holder.

The submission of the online EU survey after the mobility is considered obligatory to all mobile participating staff.

HEALTH INSURANCE

The teacher/staff member should check with his/her national authorities if there is entitlement to free or subsidized health treatment in Bulgaria.

Please, note that public health care security does not cover all kinds of medical services.
