New Opportunities of Cooperation between The UNWE and National University “Odessa Academy of Law”

The Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev and the President of the National University “Odessa Academy of Law” (NU "OAL") Acad. Sergey Kivalov discussed the academic cooperation between both institutions and opportunities of its expansion. The students and lecturers exchange during the second semester of 2016/2017 academic year will be among the first practical steps.

The Rector of UNWE Prof. Stattev gave as a present to his colleague Acad. Kivalov the Commemorative Medal of Prof. Stephan Bobchev – Founder and First Rector of UNWE and the history of our university

Prof. Stattev informed the guest about the increased academic capacity of our Law Faculty – from 260 up to 330 students as well as about the three recently accredited Doctoral Degree Programmes. During the meeting Assoc. Prof. D.Sc.(Law) Jivko Draganov, Dean of the Law Faculty invited the lecturers from the NU "OAL" to participate in the Scientific Conference organized by the Faculty.

There was a discussion on the opportunities for implementation of academic partnership between the representatives of specialities: Sociology, Political Sciences and Journalism from the UNWE and NU "OAL" as it would be allowed to our students to visit lectures in Odessa in English or Russian language (by their choice).

In the middle of the current year it was signed an Agreement of Cooperation between our university and the Academy in which was provisioned joint organization of scientific and scientific-methodical conferences and seminars, elaboration of scientific research in priority fields for both parties, publication of scientific paper collections, exchange of scientific information, scientific literature and periodical editions, etc.

The National University “Odessa Academy of Law” is established in 1847. It is a leader in the sphere of legal education in Ukraine having glorious academic traditions and respectful history. There are 14 thousand students who study in all forms and degrees of education, 1600 lecturers, 7 institutes, 13 faculties, 6 colleges and 3 associated schools.

NU "OAL" is a member of the European Association of Universities and the European Association of Public Law.

Among the eminent persons from all over the world who have been awarded the Honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa is also Prof. Dr. Nikola Filchev from the UNWE.
