Lecturer from The UNWE Participated in The Business & Economics Society International Conference

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Trifonova, Chairwoman of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty General Assembly and lecturer at the Finance Department of UNWE took part in the XXIX Business & Economics Society International Conference (B&ESI-2016). The International Society is established in Boston, USA and the Scientific Forum was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia in the period of 4-10 July.

At the International Conference Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Trifonova presented her scientific report on the Implications of the European Central Bank’s Unconventional Monetary Policy for the Banking Sector in the Euro Area.      

Assoc. Prof. Trifonova was also a Chairwoman and moderator for the scientific session devoted to the Banking. During the Conference she discussed important financial economic issues with a number of international scientists as Prof. Jennifer Foo from the Stetson University, USA; Prof. Caroline B. Curie, Managing Director of the company Public Private Sector Partnerships Pty Ltd., Australia; Dr. Panagiotis Kontakos from the British University of Central Lancashire (UClan) in Cyprus, Greece and Senior Researcher at the University of Macedonia; Prof. Aristeidis Samitas from the University of Aegean in Chios, Greece; Prof. Ho-Don Yan from the Feng Chia University in Taichung, Taiwan, etc.

During the Business & Economics Society International (B&ESI) Conference Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Trifonova took active part in working seminars and meetings with colleagues from the Business & Economics Society International. She participated in the scientific seminars led by Dr. Davorin Kracun from the University of Maribor, Slovenia, Head of the Political Economy Department, former Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Relations and Development of Slovenia who explained the specifics of Slovenian economy before and after the recession. She also took part in the scientific seminars led by Prof. Dr. Masumi Matsumoto from the Waceda University, Tokio, Japan, author of scientific paper entitled How Well the Theory Explains Reality? – the Case of Arrow`s Impossibility Theorem.

Assoc. Prof. Trifonova participated also in the work of the Special Group of Interest for the organized Round Table Conference on the Entrepreneurship and Small Business. Its moderator was Prof. Dr. Sofia Daskou from the University of Plymouth, UK and its plenary lecturers were Prof. Dr. Edgar Centeno from the Business School of EGADE (Departamento de Mercadotecnia Campus Cindad de Mexuco Technologico de Monterrey), Mexico as well as Prof. Dr. Anna Frankus (FFC Consulting), Germany, Prof. Dr. Uwe Fachinger from the University of Vechta, Germany, etc.

During the meetings were examined the opportunities for the elaboration of joint scientific research and publications, participation in future international scientific forums and the start of surveying work for application on international research and educational programmes. The international colleagues declared their interest to the participation in the international scientific conferences organized by the UNWE. They were invited to the upcoming 12th International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists on The Economy of Bulgaria and The European Union: Science and Business which will be held on 11 November 2016 at the UNWE, Sofia. Dr. Panagiotis Kontakos from the British University in Cyprus and University of Macedonia has already participated in one of the previous eleven international conferences of young scientists at our university.
