The University Center for Students and Lecturers Mobility organized a day trip to the town of Koptrivshtitsa for students studying at the UNWE in the Erasmus+ Programme.

The foreign students in Koprivshtitsa

Twenty seven students visited the historical architectural preserve, its arts and ethnographical sights. The programme included a visit to one of the most famous houses-museums in the beautiful town, a walk round the stone crop streets, lunch of traditional delicious Bulgarian meals. The girls and boys saw also the monument of Georgy Benkovsky built on a hill over the town. A tourist guide told the students some important moments of dramatic Bulgarian history during the end of XIX and the beginning of XX century – the Bulgarian struggles for national and religious independence, the organization and outbreak of the April Uprising, Russo-Turkish War (1877 – 1878), etc.

Visit to museums and sightseeing

The foreign students were very interested in the Bulgarian historical and cultural inheritance, they were impressed by the specific architecture in the period of National Revival and the heroism of organizers of the April Uprising.
