Presentational-Training Seminar of The Thomson Reuters and The UNWE Library

At the UNWE Library was held a presentational-training seminar in the frameworks of the Programme for Assistance of Results Management in the Higher Education and Science.

The main topics of the seminar were: CONVERIS – Solutions by Thomson Reuters for Optimizing the Scientific Activity Management / Useful Information Extraction from the Thomson Reuters Databases. The moderator of the event was Tsvetelina Dimitrova, representative of Thomson Reuters for Bulgaria and the presenters were Tihomir Tsenkulovsky, Manager for Strategic and Business Solutions at the Science and Intellectual Property Division of the Agency and Marko Zovko, Regional Manager of Thomson Reuters for Eastern Europe, field Science and Intellectual Property.

The seminar was opened by Stanka Tsenova, Director of the University Library and Central Archive Directorate (in the middle), Tsvetelina Dimitrova and Marko Zovko.

Tihomir Tsenkulovsky emphasized on the Thomson Reuters solutions for optimizing the management of CONVERIS scientific activity and the useful information extraction from the databases. He presented the indicators measuring the best scientific achievements, the ways for high visibility of scientific results, etc.

Thomson Reuters databases are the largest existing source of bibliographical databases in the world. They are used in the most prestigious rankings and procedures for assessment of scientific research activity. Thomson Reuters is the founder of the concept for index of quotes – impact factor. Databases in the InCites product of Thomson Reuters are normal, averaged and enable analyses and comparison between the various scientific fields, institutions, authors, etc.
