Public Lecture on The Role and Place of Innovations for The Business Development

At the Ceremonial Hall of the university was held a public lecture organized by the Business Faculty and the Center for Business Competencies Development “Innovations and Competitiveness (U2B)” at Industrial Business Department. The guest-lecturer was Tsvetanka Mincheva, Director of Retail Banking and member of the UniCredit Bulbank Management Board. Her lecture was on the Role and Place of Innovations for the Business (Banks) Development.

Prof. Dr. Radko Radev, Director of the Center for Business Competencies Development opened the lecture and presented the guests: Tsvetanka Mincheva, Danail Bashev, Director of a branch of UniCredit Bulbank, Monika Georgieva, Regional Director of UniCredit Bulbank for Sofia, Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Plamen Mishev, Dean of the Business Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Blagoev, Vice Dean in Academic Affairs as well as Scientific Secretary of the Industrial Business Department.

“It is an exceptional pleasure for me to be here with you, the young people, because you are our future officials or clients and when we talk about the innovations it has great importance”, began her lecture Tsvetanka Mincheva who outlined that she had also graduated from the UNWE. At the moment the UniCredit Bubank is one of the largest players in Europe, one of the so called structurally important banks observed carefully by the World Bank because it is important for the world economy. It is at the first place in Eastern Europe by many criteria – it has an extremely wide range operating in almost all countries: Croatia, Poland, Turkey, Russia, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc.

Mincheva gave lots of examples about how the innovations work at the banks, how important is to find answers of the following questions: what the clients expect from the bank, what is the added value the bank gives to them, how much and how long the clients tend to pay. When innovations change the same thing happens also with the clients themselves and so it is necessary to react quickly as well as to observe the changes in them, outlined as a very important detail Tsvetanka Mincheva.

“The battle objective is being where the client is. The challenge to us is not to have ideas but to turn them in reality”, said also Mincheva. She explained how the bank advertising had become more aggressive in the battle for clients. On the other hand it provides more security for consumers because there are more regulations.

About the business environment in Bulgaria Tsvetanka Mincheva assured that it is easy to work in the country because the Bulgarians change easily. She pointed out that it had been harder to work at large markets which had already been entirely “swallowed”.
