Prof. Saikova Was Awarded The Honorary Sign of The Rector
The Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev awarded to Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Ivanka Saikova the Honorary Sign of the Rector. The distinction was conferred on the longstanding lecturer at the UNWE and scientist with international importance “for high achievements in the lecturing and scientific research activity, loyalty to the academic traditions and on the occasion of her 85 anniversary” (in the picture below).

It`s a high honour for me on behalf of the Academic Managing Body of the University of National and World Economy and personally on my behalf to greet you heartily on the occasion of your 85th anniversary which is a respective and wise age, began his greeting speech the Rector Prof. Statty Stattev. “It is an exciting jubilee also for all of us because today we celebrate your glorious way you had gone through with dignity and honesty as well as because you belong to the pleiad of academic personalities who had devoted their lives to the university working with their hearts and minds, with professionalism and dedication for its high reputation”, outlined Prof. Stattev. “You have great merits to the education of several generations of students and for the development of lots of young researchers as well as for the creation of educational standards and own scientific school in the field of statistics and econometrics. You have also a significant contribution as a Vice Rector, Vice Dean and Head of the Statistics and Econometrics Department”, pointed out the Rector.

Prof. Stattev also outlined that the whole academic career of Prof. Saikova had been an emanation of her loyal service and sincere love to the UNWE, a loyalty to the eternal virtues of higher education and science. “Thank you for your honesty and adherence to principles, for your dedicated work for the high reputation of UNWE, for your selfless commitment to our university and to its mission, for the efforts you have made to build up its authority and future”, said the Rector and wished high spirits and happy days for Prof. Saikova, her daughter and granddaughter who are the second and third generation of statisticians in the family.

“I am touched by the attention and honour showed me by the Rector Prof. Stattev who had been my student. My greatest pleasure has always been to work”, said prof. Saikova and expressed her thankfulness for the high distinction and warm words.
