Public Lecture about The Presidential Elections in The USA and The Future of The American Politics

A public lecture on the Presidential Elections 2016 and the Future of the American Politics was delivered by Mr. David Rivera to lecturers and students in the Large Conference Hall. The meeting was organized by the Public Administration Department. It was part of the tuition programme of UNWE for American students from the Florida International University (FIU), Maiami, USA.

The lecture was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Polya Katsamunska, Coordinator of the tuition programme for the American students at the UNWE. She presented Mr. David Rivera briefly as a former Member of the U.S. House of Representatives, congressman, representing South Florida, Chairman of the Republican Party in Miami having lots of experience in the international politics and a counsellor for governments from Latin America and other parts of the world.

Knowing the history of a state is exclusively important because it is the key to understand its present policy, pointed out the lecturer. Comparing the Republican and Democratic Party nominations over the years he examined the previous presidential campaigns in the USA in the eve of the upcoming elections in 2016. Mr. Rivera outlined the financial records in the present campaign and spoke also about the control elections as a unique American “ritual”.

 

During the lecture

The guest analyzed the present presidential nominations from both Parties and commented the untraditional situation in the upcoming presidential elections as well as the internal political fight in the Republican Party. He also assessed the present presidential campaign as one of the most interesting and unpredictable ones in the American history. Mr. Rivera shared his personal experience and impressions from his meetings with voters in the USA.

Prof. Allan Rosenbaum, Director of the Institute of Public Management and Public Service at the FIU and Head of the American group of students also commented the untraditional situation in the upcoming presidential elections.
