Bas-Relief of Prof. David Davidov Was Officially Opened
Today we are opening a bas-relief of Prof. David Davidov on the occasion of his 90th Anniversary. This is the way we pay tribute and respect to him and we will continue the tradition of calling our university lecture-halls in the names of prominent academic persons who have related their destinies with the UNWE forever”. These were the words of the Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev at the ceremony of opening a bas-relief in front of the lecture-hall No. 2009 which will already bear the name of Prof. Davidov.
The Rector outlined to lecturers and students that Prof. Davidov is in the number of lecturers and scientists who had worked with their hearts and minds, with exceptional professionalism, honesty and love of students, with dedication and loyalty to the values of our higher education and science. “As an authoritative scientist and founder of a school in the field of governmental science Prof. Davidov had worked for his favourite university and served to his fatherland with loyalty”, emphasized Prof. Stattev.

The Rector pointed out the great merits of Prof. Davidov for the progress of young lecturers and researchers and for the academic prosperity while he had been the Rector of UNWE (since 1972 to 1975). He had also been the Head of the Industrial Economics Department, Head of the Management Theory and Economic Systems Modeling Department, Head of the Programme Laboratory for System Analysis and Management and one of the founders of the Labour Economics Department as well as its Head.

Prof. Davidov had worked dedicatedly also as a Member of the National Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Labour and Wage, First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Care, Deputy Minister of Heavy Industry, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science, Technical Progress and Higher Education, Chairman of the Council for the Study of Productive Forces to the State Counil and Director of the Social Management Institute.
“In the history of our university Prof. Davidov remains forever as a highly educated person, as a wonderful man and colleague, as one of the founders of UNWE”, pointed out the Rector.
