Lecturer from The UNWE Took Part in An International Expert Commission

From 9 to 13 June Assoc. Prof. Dr. Polya Katsamunska from the Public Administration Department took part in a procedure on international accreditation of Public Administration Programmes at the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University-Newark, USA. At national level according to the U.S. News & World Report the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University-Newark, USA occupies the 7th place among the American universities in the field of education on Public Management/Administration and the 5th place for Innovative Public Service School.

Assoc. Prof. Katsamunska was invited to participate in an expert group for a visit at the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University-Newark, USA as a member of CIAPA - Commission on International Accreditation of Public Administration Education and Training Programs, Brussels, Belgium to the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration – IASIA.

Members of the IASIA International Expert Commission for the procedure on accreditation were the following persons: Prof. Allan Rosenbaum, Florida International University, USA, Committee Chair, Prof. Jerry Kuye, University of Pretoria, South Africa, Prof. Pan Suk Kim, Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea, Assoc. Prof. Polya Katsamunska, University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria, Rachel Emas, USA, Executive Director of the Commission on International Accreditation of Public Administration Education and Training Programs.

The Expert Group proposed by the Commission on International Accreditation of Public Administration Education and Training Programs and coordinated with the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University-Newark, USA visited the assessment institution and reviewed the Self-Assessment Report for international programme accreditation of Master of Public Administration (MPA) and PhD in Public Administration.

It is the second participation of Assoc. Prof. Katsamunska as a member of expert commission in a procedure on international accreditation. In September 2014 she was also a member of the IASIA International Expert Commission on Programme Accreditation of Professional Master’s in Public Policy and Management (MPGPP) and Professional Master’s in Public Administration of the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration, Fundacao Getulio Vargas in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
