Lecturer from The UNWE - Participant in A Scientific Event Was Nominated in Sri Lanka

In March in Colombo, the capital of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka was held the International Conference on Research Publication and Networking (ICRPN 2015) organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Sri Lanka. In it took part Prof. Dr. Dimitar Velev from the Information Technologies and Communications Department.

The Forum has covered four conferences: International Conference on Business Management and Economics (ICBME 2015); International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities (ICSSH 2015); International Conference on Healthcare and Medicine (ICHM 2015); International Conference on Engineering and Technologies (ICET 2015). In the work of the Forum took part representatives of the academic circles from all continents. In an official opening ceremony the Minister of Tourism and Sports of Sri Lanka greeted the participants.

As Deputy Chairman of the International Conference on Engineering and Technologies (ICET 2015) Prof. Dr. Dimitar Velev opened the Conference delivering a plenary report on the Tendencies in the Application of Information and Communication Technologies in Emergency Management. In his one hour speech he presented the joint use of the most vanguard information and communication technologies such as the cloud and mobile calculations and the large volumes of data in the risk management during natural disasters and crisis situations. The presentation has reflected results of the work of Prof. Velev and his team on the topic in relation to several international and national projects he has been managing.

During the ICET 2015 were delivered 21 reports admitted to participate after a profound and professional review of many elaborations.

During the ICET 2015 was announced the establishment of the International Journal of Engineering Science covering topics in various technological fields of science and practice. The interest in such subjects is additionally well-grounded by the fact that the information and communication technologies in Sri Lanka occupy the fifth place in priorities of the country and it is expected to be generated more than 3 milliard dollars income by them.

Prof. Dr. Dimitar Velev was elected as Chief Editor of the magazine.
