A Public Lecture by Prof. Robert Hisrich, World Authority in The Field of Entrepreneurship

A lecture on the Global Entrepreneur and Training in Universities: How to Match Them? delivered at the university Prof. Robert Hisrich, entrepreneur, Director of the Walker Center for Global Entrepreneurship, Thunderbird School of Global Management - Glendale, Arizona, USA, world authority in the field of entrepreneurship. The event was organized by the Entrepreneurship Department and the Club of Young Innovative Entrepreneur at UNWE.

Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Kiril Todorov, Head of the Entrepreneurship Department presented the guest. He outlined that Prof. Hisrich is Doctor Honoris Causa of several European universities, guest-lecturer at the technical universities in Vienna and Queensland, Australia as well as at the universities in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Dzilin and Dzhadzyang, China. The world famous scientist is an author of lots of books and publications, consultant of companies as Alcoa, British Petroleum, City Corp, Digital Equipment, international lecturer on successful entrepreneurial behavior and marketing in a global, multicultural business environment.

The Head of the Department Prof. Todorov reminded the words of the great American economist Peter Drucker: The entrepreneurship is not a science nor an art, the entrepreneurship is just practice "and “the entrepreneurs always look for the change, respond to it and exploit it as an opportunity”. He pointed out that the level of the Department and speciality at the UNWE is commensurable with the achievements in the best European and world educational institutions and its alumni occupy leader positions in our country and abroad.

During the public lecture

In his presentation Prof. Hisrich examined the experience in the creation of companies and the education in entrepreneurship. He outlined the major challenges to the entrepreneur: from the idea to the investment, the achievement of revenue greater than the costs, creation of a business plan and strong company as he also specified the problems in the building of family business. The guest-lecturer focused the attention of student audience on the education in entrepreneurship. He presented in details the educational system of Thunderbird School of Global Management which covers all stages in the development of entrepreneurial process. Graduating their education your people are practically prepared for everything: from the research of enterprises and companies to the strategies, the creation of partnership relations and conclusion of agreements, outlined Prof. Hisrich. For the implementation of these objectives the education in Thunderbird School of Global Management is concentrated in five areas with academic programmes and practical lectures.

Prof. Hisrich outlined the importance of partnership relations between the universities. He also emphasized on the importance of national cultures in the world entrepreneurship and the necessity of adoption to them.
