Sixth International Conference on The Entrepreneurial/Managerial Innovative Strategies and Behaviour in Global Multicultural Environment

It was successfully held the Sixth International Conference on the Entrepreneurship organized by the Bulgarian Association for Management and Entrepreneurship Development (BAMED), the Entrepreneurship Department and the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) at UNWE in a partnership with the European Council for Small Business (ECSB). The present edition of the Conference titled Entrepreneurial/Managerial Innovative Strategies and Behaviour in Global Multicultural Environment gathered together participants from 16 countries from Europe, USA, Brazil, Argentina and among them had some names famous all over the world in the professional field. The Forum was held at the Festa Panorama Hotel in the town of Nesebar.

Among the guests in the Conference were also: the Ambassador of the Kazakhstan Republic His Excellency Temirtai Izbastin who pointed out the prior and perspective fields for entrepreneurial activity in Kazakhstan; Kiril Grigorov, Manager of the Municipal Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises (MGFSME) at Sofia Municipality who presented the activity of the Fund; Lidia Stankova, Director of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture – Burgas who emphasized on the economic and business opportunities of Burgas region; representatives of DSK Bank and the Municipal Bank who had given a financial support to the Conference.

In the Forum were presented and discussed some key reports of leading professionals – Prof. Ken O`Neill, Honorary Professor of the Ulster University, Ex-President of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), first winner of the British Queen award for his contribution to the education in Entrepreneurship from the Ulster University – North Ireland; Prof. Kiril Todorov, Chairman of the Board of Bulgarian Association for Management and Entrepreneurship Development (BAMED), Vice President for Bulgaria of the European Council for Small Business (ECSB), Head of the Entrepreneurship Department and Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) at UNWE; Prof. Robert Hisrich, Director of the Center for Global Entrepreneurship, Thunderbird School for Global Management, Arizona-USA; Prof. David Smallbone from the Kingston University – UK, Ex-President of ECSB and ICSB.

For the first time in the traditional Forum participated also students from our university, members of the Club of Young and Innovative Entrepreneur who presented a report and took active part in the discussions. The international range of the Conference was also expanded as except the participants from the UK, USA, Italy, France, Germany, Finland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Serbia and other countries in the work were involved young researchers from Argentina and Brazil.

In the Round Table Conference devoted to the relations between the universities and practical world except the participation of the moderators Prof. Hisrich and Prof. O`Neill very important was the participation of the high-tech entrepreneur from the Silicon Valley Joseph Affholter who combines flatly his entrepreneurial activity with lectures on Entrepreneurship in his native town Michigan and the young innovative entrepreneur Ivelin Ivanov from Bulgaria, prospective-Doctoral student from the UNWE.

The award for the best report and presentation (1000 Euro) was given to Dr. Renaud Redien-Collot, Deputy Director of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business School. He was distinguished for his research devoted to the process of selecting entrepreneurial models.

As in the previous five conferences except the referred publications in the collection of reports from the Conference some defined reports will be published in international magazines such as International Review of Entrepreneurship (IRE) и International Journal of Management Science and Information Technology (IJMSIT) which have a significant impact factor.

Many other important forums in the field of entrepreneurship are also going to be held. On 7 October at 17.00 at the Large Conference Hall of UNWE will be carried out a meeting-discussion with Prof. Robert Hisrich and on 9 October at 10.00 at the Ceremonial Hall - a lecture-discussion with Mrs. Madi sharma, famous international entrepreneur, member of the European Economic and Social Committee. On 8 October at the Radison Hotel will be held a seminar for Bulgarian entrepreneurs and managers and lecturers will be Prof. Hisrich, Mrs. Sharma and Dr. Petra Erseg from the Fraunhofer Institute, Germany – the leading institute of innovations in Europe.
