Lecturer from The UNWE Became The Highest-Standing Representative of Bulgaria in The EU

Mariana Kotseva, Associate Professor at the UNWE was appointed as Deputy Director General in Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union and became the highest-standing Bulgarian in the EU administration.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kotseva joined the Eurostat team in the beginning of 2012. As a special adviser in the statistical office of the European Union she was responsible for strengthening the professional independence of Presidents of the National Statistical Offices in the European Union member states. For more than four years (since January 2008 to April 2012) she has headed the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria as its President. She has worked as adviser to the United Nations Development Programme and the Serbian Ministry of Labour and Employment.
