The First Scholarship Students of Economy of Bella Bulgaria Were Awarded

In an official ceremony at the Large Conference Hall were announced the students-winners in the scholarship competition organized by the food holding Bella Bulgaria in partnership with the UNWE. At the ceremony attended Prof. Statty Stattev, Rector of the university, Assoc. Prof. Jordan Bliznakov, Director of the Inter-University Center for Career Development, Kiril Hadzhidinev, Marketing Director of Bella Bulgaria, Zlatislava Medarova, Human Resources Director of Bella Bulgaria, Kosara Ivanova, Head of Selection Division at the holding, Antoan Shotarov, Chairman of the Students Council of UNWE.

Today we are together to greet the excellent performance of our students, said in his welcoming speech to the participants in the competition the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev. Our twenty two finalists in the project of Bella Academy will get Honorary Diplomas from the food holding Bella Bulgaria and UNWE. Among them are also the first two winners of the prize Scholarship Students of Economics, pointed out the Rector.

We used to hear complaints about the lack of relation between higher education and business but now University № 1 in Bulgaria and Bella Bulgaria, the leader in the food industry give a clear example of successful interaction, outlined the Rector. It is very important for a person to have a good theoretical knowledge but more important is to combine it with the practice, emphasized Prof. Stattev. The fruitful cooperation between the UNWE and Bella Bulgaria is a successful model for the preparation of economists for the food industry and for improvement of competitiveness and competence of the employees in the sector.

Prof. Stattev defined the event as a stage of the fruitful cooperation between the university and the holding which actively participating in the Career Days of UNWE had become also a workplace for the university graduates. It is also managed by an alumnus of UNWE – Elsa Markova, the first winner of the prestigious prize Missis Economics 2012.

“You made our choice very difficult but we are happy we had the opportunity to choose between so many young-minded people with a great potential, turned to the participants in the competition Kiril Hadzhidinev. Accept these scholarships as a reward for your efforts but remember that to achieve what you dream, you must continue working, said Hadzhidinev pointing out that in the cooperation between the UNWE and the holding broad horizons had been opened.

For the first Scholarships for Economics competed 73 students from the university and 22 of them who achieved the highest scores got Honorary Diplomas. Their rewards were bestowed on them by the members of the Competition Committee comprising Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jordan Bliznakov, Prof. Dr. Boyan Durankev, lecturer in Marketing, Antoan Shotarov from the UNWE, Zlatislava Medarova and Kosara Ivanova from Bella Bulgaria.

Monika Ivanova, fourth-year student of Economics in the English language and Mihail Minchev, second-year student in professional field of Economics and Business, both from the UNWE, won the first Scholarships for Economics of Bella Academy. Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev, Rector of UNWE and Kiril Hadzhidinev, Marketing Director of Bella Bulgaria bestowed on them symbolic checks of 2000 BGN.

Before the ceremony on awarding the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev met at his office and had a conversation with representatives of the holding Bella Bulgaria and participants in the five-membered jury (in the picture below).
