I feel especially exited on this first for you academic day, addressed to the students in their first - year at the hall the Prime Minister. In his welcoming speech Assoc. Prof. Dr. Plamen Oresharski remembered about the years when he was a student at the UNWE, about his lecturers and the challenges which his generation had faced up. He estimated all that had been done pointing out the following: “We made a lot of mistakes, sometimes we were hesitant, sometimes we were in a hurry but we succeeded to integrate to the European communities. Work hard so that, in time, you have more reasons than me to declare – There were a lot of challenged but we succeeded and now the country is among the most advanced communities in the European Union”.

“The higher education is not as an amount of knowledge as just a way of thinking”, outlined the Prime Minister. He appealed the young people to form their own opinion on the economic and social tendencies. “The knowledge is only a window through which you have to see the economics by your own eyes”, said Plamen Oresharski and wished the students to remember that the horizon of knowledge was in front of them.

“The time only seems long, so use these four years wisely. Read on to learn as much as possible but it is more important to build a world view and way of thinking”, pointed out also the Prime Minister. He expressed his confidence that namely among the students of UNWE would be the future leaders of the country.
