Public Lecture of His Excellency Guillermo Salvador Asrak, Ambassador of The Republic of Argentina in Bulgaria

A public lecture of His Excellency Guillermo Salvador Asrak, ambassador of the Republic of Argentina in our country gathered together Spanish speaking lecturers and students at the Large Conference Hall of the university. The meeting with the Argentinean ambassador was organized by the Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics Department.

Before his public lecture His Excellency Guillermo Salvador Asrak met and had a conversation with the Rector of UNWE D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev (in the picture below).

By his presentation on the Argentina – History and Present, Economy and Foreign Policy, Bilateral Relations with Bulgaria, the ambassador acquainted the audience with the foreign policy of the country and commented some actual international issues. He outlined that between Argentina and Bulgaria have had long standing relations and that Argentina was the first Latin American country with which Bulgaria has established diplomatic relations (in 1931).

At the event attended also Prof. Dr. Antoaneta Vasileva, Dean of the International Economics and Politics Faculty (the first woman on the left) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Kozhuharova (on the right).

His Excellency Guillermo Salvador Asrak examined also the bilateral cooperation as he outlined the commercial relations in the field of agriculture, food industry, energetics, etc. He didn`t hide his active interest to the contacts in the field of education and culture.

In the beginning of the meeting Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Kozhuharova, Head of the International Languages and Applied Linguistics Department presented the guest. His Excellency Guillermo Salvador Asrak is Bachelor of Science on Administration (1973), expert-accountant (1974) from the National University in Buenos Aires; Master of Science on Economics and Business from the University of Anauak, Mexico (2001), Vice-Consul in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1977 - 1981), economic and trade adviser in the Argentinian government in former Yugoslavia (1984 – 1988) and also in France (1988 – 1991), Minister Plenipotentiary in Canada (1993 – 1997) and in Mexico (1997 – 2003). He has worked at the National Directorate for Trade Development, National Directorate for International Economic Negotiations, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, etc.
